"Winterreise" is a short story by Squibstress. It is the fifth story from the author's Epithalamium series chronicling the life of Minerva McGonagall.
The title, which means "winter journey", is taken from the eponymous 1828 song cycle by Franz Schubert.
Summary[]
Set during the Marauder era at Hogwarts, the story follows Minerva McGonagall over several days surrounding the 1976 Yule Ball, during which she and Albus Dumbledore clash over Sirius Black's behaviour, and she contemplates the nature of her relationship with her husband.
