It is known that Fairchild had to be born before June 21, 1997 because his mother was known for carrying Twelvetrees' grandson by that date. He was raised alone by his mother in a lakeside cottage in Michigan. He was very anti-social due to the Wizarding community's transfer of his parents' mistakes onto him. He became sullen and cynical and did not have any friends because of it.
Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
First Year (2008-2009)
Fairchild attended Ilvermorny starting August 20th, 2008. During the trip he befriended Pallas Prewett and Kara Fontaine The two discussed the Wizarding World in length. He was Sorted into Horned Serpent House and was chosen by a wand.
Personality and Traits
Fairchild had dark hair, doe-shaped dark eyes, and pale skin. He was noted for having mannerisms that mixed his pureblood breeding and ones that emphasized his small build and made it easier for him to blend into crowds.
Fairchild was cynical, sullen, and anti-social because of the reputation he carried. Like his mother, he was studious, curious, and always happy to share information. He could be stuffy, arrogant, and aristocratic but deep down he wanted to fit in.
Skills and Abilities
Being a wizard, it is known that Fairchild could use magic and most likely well. The full capabilities have not been revealed.
Fairchild was close with his mother because she raised him. He was known to have taken on a lot of her traits, although they were marred by his dark reputation. He was happy to go into Horned Serpent because his mother went to that house.
It is unknown what Fairchild thought of his father, but his reputation was an influence on the young Fairchild. It is known that he refused the family name, at least because of his paternal grandfather.
Fairchild's maternal grandfather did not like him as he repsresented that Janna Fairchild was not perfect or a paragon of virtue like Michael Fairchild wanted her to be. The dislike appeared to be mutual, although Fairchild had more respect for his maternal grandfather than his paternal.
Prewett was quick to beforemd him and persistent in trying to get to know him. They were both Sorted into the same house and stuck together for necessity's sake.
Fontaine and Fairchild initially got off on the wrong foot but began a bedgrudging friendship because Prewett was friends with both of them.
