Tanya Matthews' wand was made out of bitterwood, which usually preferred those bound by honor and integrity. The handle, made out of ebony, heavily favored those with a talent for the most powerful magics. However, the combination of this strand of bitterwood and ebony wood meant the wand would seek out somebody mysterious. Her wand had 2 cores, a primary core of unicorn tail hair which enhanced destructive magic spells and a secondary core of basilisk bone to control the power of the primary core.
