Minister Nobby Leach was the British Minister for Magic between 1962 and 1968. The major upheaval of his term in office were, most likely, the Pureblood riots during the Squib Rights marches.

Biography

Hogwarts years

With eleven years Nobby was drafted by the Sorting Hat for Gryffindor being a "Hatsall" because it took seven minutes to the hat decide between Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. Nobby was an excellent student in Charms and the best of her class in History of Magic, although he had difficulties in Flying. In his fifth year, Nobby got seven OWL's, an "Exceeds Expectations" in Muggle Studies, and a "Acceptable "in Arithmancy.

Working at the Ministry of Magic

Nobby had a promising start in the Ministry of Magic, working for three years in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. In 1942, Nobby was invited by the former Minister for Magic, Tarvos Parkinson, to be his Junior assistant. One of his greatest works as Assistant to the Minister for Magic has been working on the case of attacks that occurred in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1943, when Muggle-borns were being attacked. During the Global Wizarding War, Nobby had not received information about attacks and invasions because his superiors believe he was emotionally involved because his brother, Bob Leach, a Squib, had enlisted as a soldier of the British Army.

As Minister for Magic

After the Tarvos Parkinson's removal of the post of Minister for Magic in 1962, Nobby was invited to assume the position. He was one of the greatest ministers who engaged in the causes about the rights of Squibs and approved the Squib Rights marches. However, their support for squibs earned him the displeasure of many families of pure blood, which rendered his retirement in 1968. The first decree of Nobby was the optional use of ties.
