John Bishop (1892-1912) was the second son of Duke Horatio Bishop of Kinnimoore. As he was of noble birth, John was assured a spot in the hierarchy of Kinnimoore, but was still displeased with being the second son. John deeply desired to become Duke, but knew that it was a hopeless dream.
After his father's death in 1912, John stole his father's wand, which he knew to be quite valuable, and fled during the funeral. He sold the wand in a shop in Knockturn Alley, and used the money to buy passage on the RMS Titanic. Sometime during this voyage, the rakish Bishop fell in love with and impregnated a Muggle woman, Olivia de Boer.
When the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank, Bishop's lover and unborn son would escape, but he would not. He was still on the deck of the ship when it sank.
